MAC is developing an optical MEMS-based seismometer with sensitivity into the nano-g range. The unique sensitivity is due to the high Q-factor of the sensing element. The seismometer is compact, rugged and capable of autonomous operation.

The program is supported by an SBIR award from the Department of Energy.
